Resources and Tools
Listed below are many organizations that SSI partners with to assist our
clients in meeting their needs.
Listed below are some sample tools of the many that SSI uses
in serving our clients to strengthen their organizational and individual skills
as leaders.
SIMA®- Discovering Passion
and Motivation
SIMA® stands for System for Identifying Motivated Abilities
The SIMA® process identifies inner tools, those natural strengths,
abilities and motivations that are so critical to success in life and work.
We believe that everyone has a specific combination of skills and motivations
that drives what they most want to do and shapes how they most enjoy going about
it.
For over thirty years SIMA® has been used by individuals and
organizations to help people identify these inner tools. Nearly 30,000 people
have been through this process, in places as far apart as New Zealand, Australia,
all over the USA and Europe.
Two types of abilities
In looking at all the tasks an individual performs during a typical week, a
remarkable array of skills is exhibited. However, not all of them are equally
engaging. We therefore divide these skills into two categories: can-do skills
and motivated abilities.
Can-Do Skills
As the name implies, these are the skills the individual is capable of performing
with some proficiency but is not motivated to perform.
Motivated Abilities
These are the abilities and activities that the individual
- is drawn to
- finds most absorbing and engaging
- gravitates to without thinking
- considers 'common sense' because they come so naturally
Many people lose track of time when these skills are engaged. These are the
skills we are most interested in discovering.
SIMA® will identify these skills.
How does it do this and why does it work so well?
SIMA® works so well because it starts with the individual. It
doesn't impose any theories or paradigms from the outside. It is not a test.
Unlike other assessment methodologies where results are measured against norms
and described as one of a type, the picture developed through SIMA®
is a description of the uniqueness of the individual. It does not depend on
how well the person takes tests or 'comes across' in an interview. The SIMA®
process identifies the unique recurring motivational themes that have
emerged during the person's life, the best predictor of future behavior.
MBTI® Identifying Your Personal Style
