Alfred Hurd, Senior Consultant

Alfred
Hurd is a senior consultant at SSI with experience in a wide variety of disciplines
including management practice, project management, strategic planning, organizational
behavior, information systems, writing and teaching. As a managing consultant,
Alfred works with organizations of all sizes to define and solve problems that
are barriers to improved performance. Particular emphasis is placed on working
with project teams to develop skills in planning and managing the work, improving
teamwork and relating successfully to senior management. His strategic planning
coaching with several small and midsize companies has led to their significant
success and growth.
Alfred's published work includes Competitive Strategy: Planning Your Organization's
Success, Data Driven Report Writing, and Systems Analysis for the 90's as well
as many articles for professional publications. Copies are available by request

Alfred taught courses in Systems Analysis, the Users' Role in System Development,
and Data Processing Project Management at the University of Pennsylvania, Temple
University and Boston University. He served as a manager at Scott Paper and
the Sun Company prior to his consulting work with banks, hospitals, manufacturers
and non-profit organizations. In addition to his work at SSI, Alfred has extensive
management training experience with the American Management Association.
Alfred holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University, an honors degree in English
from Harvard College, a Certificate in Data Processing (CDP) and has been designated
a Project Management Professional (PMP).
Alfred's creative skill in project management is well recognized; he has a
special aptitude for guiding clients to organize and complete complex projects.
