Marlys Hanson, Senior Consultant

Marlys
Hanson is a senior consultant with Strategic Source as well as the principal consultant
partner of Marlys Hanson and Associates, Inc., a consulting group specializing
in career issues of engineers and scientists. Marlys partners with the consulting
staff of Strategic Source, Inc. to provide innovative programs in Job Fit and
Career Management.
One highlight in a highly recognized career occurred when Marlys was selected
from a field of major consulting firms as the subject expert to develop the
corporate coaching and counseling program for DuPont. She has since custom-designed
numerous career management programs, both nationally and internationally. Her
clients, including Exxon and Merck, have received national awards for results
achieved with career programs she helped to implement.
Marlys is also active as a volunteer leader in the training and development
profession and is a past National President of the American Society for Training
and Development, an organization of nearly 75,000 human resource development
professionals. She has published several articles, is author of the book: PASSION
and PURPOSE, How to Identify and Leverage the Powerful Patterns That Shape Your
Work/Life and has presented at many regional, national and international conferences.
Early in her career, Marlys was a key contributor to the Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratory career/life planning program, which has served as a model
for many organizations. Her research on the relationship of developmental opportunities
to overall job satisfaction led to the evolvement of career management skills
and systems used in many Fortune 100 companies.
Marlys has a B.S. in Business Education/Administration Summa Cum Laude from
Moorhead State University and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology with Distinction
from California State University.
Marlys shares her unique gifts with many clients as she guides them to better
career and life choices.
