Michael S. Doré, Senior Consultant

Michael S. Doré is a senior consultant at SSI who specializes in strategic planning and management, process improvement, quality management, and marketing. He has consulted in these and related business transformation areas for a variety of profit and not-for-profit clients. He developed and managed the market-driven quality strategy for a $3 billion, 17-country unit of a Fortune 10 company in the high-tech industry. He successfully led business initiatives in process re-engineering, quality implementation and assessment, and new marketing channels for products during his 26-year career with IBM as well as in his consulting roles.

Mike has consulted with the retail, pharmaceutical, oil, health, banking, financial, manufacturing, computer, energy, investment, nuclear, protein, beverage, and several not-for-profit industries. He has managed the marketing, planning, business practices, and quality functions in various organizational units of IBM. He has taught and facilitated sessions with more than 2000 executives, managers, and professionals in planning, process improvement, quality management, Malcolm Baldrige assessment, and transformational leadership. He manages and consults with organizations in the private and public sectors of the United States, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Far East.

Mike is certified to teach pre-retirement planning by the National Council on Aging and has facilitated seminars for senior executives and professionals. Mike has been active in his local community, serving as president of his homeowners' association and chairman of his town's recreation commission and solid waste committee.

Mike teaches MBA courses in Strategic Planning and Management, Quality Management, and Service Operations Management at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas and a Master of Arts course in Strategic Management at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. He has consulted and taught for the American Management Association nationwide and internationally.

Mike earned his MBA at the University of Maryland, specializing in management. He also received his B.S. in Business Administration from Maryland.

Mike's background as a community leader as well as his strong business and academic credentials allow him to be highly effective in his special interest area: strategic planning and management improvement in the not-for-proft sector. Fortunately, that consulting effectiveness also extends to for-profit clients as they experience growth and change.
