Michael S. Doré, Senior Consultant

Michael
S. Doré is a senior consultant at SSI who specializes in strategic planning
and management, process improvement, quality management, and marketing. He has
consulted in these and related business transformation areas for a variety of
profit and not-for-profit clients. He developed and managed the market-driven
quality strategy for a $3 billion, 17-country unit of a Fortune 10 company in
the high-tech industry. He successfully led business initiatives in process re-engineering,
quality implementation and assessment, and new marketing channels for products
during his 26-year career with IBM as well as in his consulting roles.
Mike has consulted with the retail, pharmaceutical, oil, health, banking, financial,
manufacturing, computer, energy, investment, nuclear, protein, beverage, and
several not-for-profit industries. He has managed the marketing, planning, business
practices, and quality functions in various organizational units of IBM. He
has taught and facilitated sessions with more than 2000 executives, managers,
and professionals in planning, process improvement, quality management, Malcolm
Baldrige assessment, and transformational leadership. He manages and consults
with organizations in the private and public sectors of the United States, Europe,
Latin America, the Middle East, and the Far East.
Mike is certified to teach pre-retirement planning by the National Council
on Aging and has facilitated seminars for senior executives and professionals.
Mike has been active in his local community, serving as president of his homeowners'
association and chairman of his town's recreation commission and solid waste
committee.
Mike teaches MBA courses in Strategic Planning and Management, Quality Management,
and Service Operations Management at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas
and a Master of Arts course in Strategic Management at Manhattanville College
in Purchase, New York. He has consulted and taught for the American Management
Association nationwide and internationally.
Mike earned his MBA at the University of Maryland, specializing in management.
He also received his B.S. in Business Administration from Maryland.
Mike's background as a community leader as well as his strong business and
academic credentials allow him to be highly effective in his special interest
area: strategic planning and management improvement in the not-for-proft sector.
