Ralph Picard, Ph.D., Senior Consultant

Ralph
Picard is a senior consultant with Strategic Source who applies both experience
and academic knowledge to define complex organizational issues and advise clients
on practical solutions. He performs a variety of services at SSI such as teambuilding,
strategic planning, meeting facilitation and leadership, management coaching
and training and project management. Ralph specializes in conducting motivational
assessments, leading career development, overseeing employee selection, facilitating
the SSI partnering process, designing and administering an organizational cultural
assessment process and facilitating various leadership management assessments.
Ralph combines fourteen years as CEO of two corporations with a doctoral degree
in Psychology to guide clients in meeting the challenge of creating effective
leadership in the workplace. He has worked with hundreds of leaders, managers
and direct reports in assessing core motivators using the System for Identifying
Motivated Abilities (SIMA®) process and guided those individuals to create
career development plans and improve their effectiveness in their leading and
managing skills.
Ralph conducts organizational needs assessments for small companies to Fortune
500 companies employing focus group processes, interviews and surveys. He guides
his clients in evaluating needs assessment research and assists them in developing
strategies to address the issues.
In addition, Ralph has expertise in a unique team building application known
as Partnering, used in the construction industry to assist in aligning the efforts
of many companies and individuals toward working together to successfully conduct
major building projects. Facilitating partnering sessions with various clients
including the New York State Organization of General Services (OGS), he has
assisted various contractors to bring their projects in on time and within budget.

Ralph conducts corporate cultural analysis through use of the Denison Cultural
Survey Process. Using the Denison tool, he has worked with hospitals, schools,
financial institutions and merging companies. Ralph has led these companies
to identify effective and ineffective cultural traits and helped them design
plans to address the needs identified in the process.
Using various change management processes and management/leadership assessment
tools such as SIMA®, Acumen and Praxis, Ralph teaches managers how to become
leaders and teams how to become more effective work groups. An expert on managerial
development, he provides both managers and teams with the understanding and
ability to "do more with less." In his consulting work with individuals
and corporations, he draws from his fourteen years of practical experience as
CEO for a multi-million dollar construction firm.
Ralph graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in Industrial Engineering.
After many years of engineering and managing experience, he completed his Ph.D.
in Psychology in 1990 at Union Institute.
Ralph's special consulting interest are in translating motivational assessment
and organizational cultural assessments into action plans for more effective
managers, leaders, teams and organizations. He has recently performed these
services with both large and medium sized organizations including Children's
Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Merck and Company, GlaxoSmithKline, New York
State OGS, Enhance Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Overbrook School for the Blind and
others.
