David Gondak, Senior Consultant

 David
Gondak, as Director of Educational Services at Strategic Source, Inc., assists
educational organizations and other groups in the areas of strategic plan development
and implementation, school reform, team building, collaboration and lobbying.
He has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Pennsylvania's largest teachers'
union and led the strategic organizational and management development of the
Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA). His experience includes the
development of collaborative working relationships within both the governance
and staff of PSEA and working with other unions and organizations statewide.
Dave gained significant experience dealing with organizational development
issues after being elected Vice President of PSEA in 1991. During his tenure,
he led the strategic learning process for the organization of over 100,000 members
and a governing board of 68. Through this process, the organization developed
new approaches to addressing the complex issues facing public education in the
90s that included management of significant change using effective strategic
planning, collaborative bargaining and project management processes. Dave is
recognized locally and nationally for his leadership in dealing with school
reform and safety issues.
Dave continues to develop and learn by actively collaborating
with such organizations as the Quality New Jersey 2001 Board of Examiners for
the Governor's Award for Performance Excellence; the American Society for Quality,
Baldrige Award Self-Assessment Training for Education; the Cambridge Forum on
Executive Leadership, Optimizing Human Performance in Business and Industry;
and the Center for Creative Leadership, Effective Change. An example of Dave's

Dave received his B.S. in Education from the Pennsylvania State University.
Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy as a line officer aboard a
Destroyer Escort. Upon completing active duty, he returned to Penn State to
earn his M. Ed. in Secondary Education, after which he taught chemistry and
science at Central Bucks High School West. He also received his Principal's
Certification from Lehigh University.
Dave is very effective helping organizations reach short-term improvements
while developing and implementing long-term strategy.
